Oathtaking of New PTA-BOD 2019-2020 Officers Held in PISQ

Philippine International School of Qatar welcomed the new batch of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and Board of Directors (BOD) Officers for the school year 2019-2020 through an Oath Taking held on October 10, 2019, at PISQ grounds. Mr. Jason Iyas, PISQ Principal served as the Inducting Officer on the occasion in the presence of the newly elected officers headed by Cirilio C. Caday Jr. as President along with the Vice-President,Mr. Pio Rene T. Tortola.
“The school recognises your great contribution in the promotion of our learners’ well-being," Mr. Iyas commented about the special occasion "May you continue to work with the school in the fulfillment of our vision for the benefit of our children."
The event featured an awarding ceremony wherein certificates were given to the outgoing PTA-BOD officers headed by Mr. Wilson De Leon Jr as former President with Engr. John Bunagan as former Vice President. The former officers included Ms.Aileen Bale-Torres, Ms.Marciano Cacayorin, Engr. Felixberto Lloren Jr., and Mr. Raymond Yasser Chio. While the newly elected BOD officers were Ms. Daina Ross Palanay, Ms. Cynthia May Custodio, Mr. Arsenio Lacson Jr, Mr. Arnold Javier, and Ms. Lei Asis.
The occasion was highlighted by a turn-over ceremony through a symbolic key headed over by the outgoing President, Mr. De Leon, to the newly elected President, Mr. Caday.
Dr. Alvin Abainza of Qatar University served as the guest speaker. He gave his words of wisdom to the audience and to the newly elected PTA-BOD officers. A production number was presented by the PISQ Dance Troupe and selected NKP pupils to entertain the audience.
With the new PTA officers elected, administrators, teachers and parents will help make the school the best for the students of PISQ in the future here in Doha, Qatar.
