"Technology makes life easy and convenient, but just as how it evolves, there are still people who aren't able to adapt very well, and we at Den'Vin want to provide space for them."

-Mark Joseph Funilas, Tatawwar Ambassador in Qatar

Mark Joseph Funilas, a PISQian student from Grade 10 - Justice, has been chosen as the Tatawwar Ambassador in Qatar. He has worked with Prince Denivin Pineda and Ms. Jean Dacudag, two people who have been at his side throughout the entire journey.

The Tatawwar Programme is an interactive series of workshops and online training programs hosted by HSBC and Potential that have successfully shaped students into knowledgeable tycoons from September 2020 to March 2021 in both real settings and online platforms. The sessions were intense, thorough, and insightful that participants were truly tested for the validation of their work. Moreover, it grants them critical skills to excel in addressing the various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"It was as if our brains were being fried up," Funilas comments "The sessions were informative, yes, but they really embedded these in us very well." From his experience, confidence alone does not count if you do not have a wide perspective about a certain topic. The message needs to be plausible in a way that resonates with the people.

This event was open to students residing in several countries. This year, there were a whopping 5,051 students who had decided to apply and 200 of them had the opportunity to participate. Preparation was done as the programme had just started to blossom - students were determined to showcase their knowledge and skills in innovative ways. Research and development have the heaviest weight in the competition and competitors play to their strengths, from electronics, information technology, engineering, programming to science.

The programme was well-planned and comprehensive. The registration and qualifying rounds were held online, the semi-finals workshop took place at QBIC, Ar Rayyan (Qatar Business Incubation Centre), and the remainder of the programme occurred online, including the final awarding ceremony. The contestants were able to adapt to the changes and were still able to deliver with flying colors.

The Tatawwar program has achieved its main objective: providing students with the erudition and virtuosity needed to steer clear from problems that can severely affect the world's condition.Funilas is a great representation of a student's resilience and adaptation to challenges.  We hope that in the years ahead PISQ students will thrive in their business endeavors and really curve the niche towards a better world. It must be remembered that anything is possible, dreams and being able to conquer life's hindrances is no exception.
