“I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious.”, says Albert Einstein, a physicist.

February 17, 2020, the Junior High school department held a 3-in-1 celebration of the three subjects: English, Science, and Math that was held virtually in Discord from 1-3 in the afternoon. Given that the students have a great ability to absorb knowledge in their own ways, the batch of 2020-2021 fought amazingly with every round provided.

The students of each classroom were shuffled by the fact that the competition would immediately start after school. Some hurriedly went home and prepared, while for those who were scheduled for an online class, they just had to sit back, prepare, and wait for the meeting link to be sent by their advisers. The respective subject teachers for English, Mathematics, and English were the ones who prepared the questions for both the elimination and final round.

For the elimination round, each section had a different google meet link sent by their advisers and only a single link that leads them to Quizziz, an online platform for educational quizzes or games. With their cameras on, the advisers were able to see whether they were answering or not, and how they would react to the recap of lessons from their first quarter.

The first three students to gain the highest scores were chosen to represent their classroom in the final round. General knowledge was the central topic of this round, so those with the mightiest brain led the whole game. After an hour of competing and buzzing, 3 victors for each level were recognized in the virtual stage. Rhee Jeremiah S. Costan, the champion for the ENSCIMA Quiz Bee in Grade 10, “The three subjects are essential in our learning. They hone our skills like critical thinking and analysis.” Costan also added that by celebrating English, Mathematics, and Science, we are able to gain indispensable information that may play important parts in our futures.

Though not all may have been recognized, every student who participated in the ENSCIMA celebration put up a great fight as their efforts amidst online classes and pandemic, truly amazed their teachers.

With all the endeavor and preparation shown by the young students and dedicated teachers of Junior High, it is enough to say that all of them are talented in various ways. So if you believe you have the talent, continue on developing and carrying the torch as a proud PISQian.
