PTA Oath Taking Ceremony kicks off at POLO-OWWA Office

Held in the POLO-OWWA office, Al Jazeera Twin Towers, from 9 to 10 in the morning of January 15, 2020, is the Oath Taking Ceremony of the PTA BOD and HRPTA officers of Philippine International School-Qatar.
Both the speakers, Ms. Jean C. Dacudag and Mr. Jose Paulo Quirapas, started the event with its theme, "PTA: Enduring the Difficult Times by Standing Together in the New Beginning as One Family and One Community." Given that, we should have a hint of what the officers want for the students in PISQ — an enjoyable experience with the quality education that pushes students to aim higher and better, for themselves.
With the introduction of each department's level head, comes the opening speech of our school principal, Mr.Jason A. Iyas. In his speech, he said that students are more likely to achieve or gain new acknowledgments when they have a positive relationship with their parents, so is it an addition whenever parents can give their full support to the children's activities and education.
The guest speaker, Hon. David Des T. Dicang, Labor Attaché of POLO-OWWA, stated that he has friends of his own that became officers of the organization, and with his experiences, he then iterated that most of them aim for what's actually the best. Sharing different stories of his, he said that when in school, the teachers are the ones given the responsibility to take care of their child, to teach them to be critical thinkers with whatever the method is, given the big gap between teachers of before and now.
The newly elected PTA-BOARD of Directors for the year 2020-2021 was introduced by Ms.Wilma Delos Santos. Mr. Pio Rene Y. Tortola as the President, Mr. Rozier P. Egipto as Vice President, Ms. Beberlyn R. Asperilla as Secretary, Ms. Maria Salome I. Caday as Treasurer, Mr. Raymond Yasser Chio as Auditor, Ms. Donna Marie C. Elumba as P.R.O., Mr. Roseller T. Lim as Business Manager, BOD Parents: Ms. Cherry Ann C. Calibo, Mr. Jesse M. Cruz, and Mr. Ramon Christopher L. Etable. BOD Teachers: Ms. Perlita N. Albesa, Ms. Karren R. Baac, Ms. Maria Carmela Celine C. Cacas, Ms. Jean C. Dacudag, and Mr. Jose Paulo A. Quirapas.
After the introduction of HRPTA officers, the new set of PTA-BOD officers then began with their oath-taking ceremony led by Hon. David Des T. Dicang. From the past president of the PTA, the responsibilities are then passed on to Mr. Pio Tortola.
Given in the newly elected president, he comes with a speech containing all plans of the board for the school. This includes the set of new chairs and tables for the students, continuation in the innovation of the covered court, and the launching of social media accounts of the school; YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc… he also included that the school shall be an environment of intellectual and productive citizens that brings progress as time passes by, given the school's mission and vision.
To end the event, Hon. David Des T. Dicang spoke about how we should all stand together and be optimistic, and see the best despite the current situation we are facing right now. Changes are always existing and it's up to us on how we'll handle that.
